| The practice today known as MAINE OPTOMETRY, P.A., was established in the spring of 1984 by Dr. Blaine A. Littlefield. The office is housed in the old Day's Jewelry Store building at 82 Maine Street in Brunswick, Maine. After what seemed like an eternity, the Day's store was selected because of its location and availability. The building was completely reconstructed and the office designed by a California firm specifically for an optometric practice. With time the business grew; much to the delight of Dr. Littlefield; and it soon became apparent that the practice would be more than a part-time effort. In November of 1988, Dr. Littlefield bought-out the practice of Dr. Lionel F. DuBois who was at that time entertaining the notion of retirement. Dr. Littlefield's game plan called for the finding of a partner who could help him grow the practice in the midst of Dr. DuBois's departure. In June of 1990, on the tail end of what had become a two year search, Dr. Michelle A. Broderick (at that time Dr. Michelle Bonneau) was invited to join the practice. She accepted. The practice has flourished ever since, always growing and expanding its service base to ensure the satisfaction of its patients. In April of 2005, the practice hired an associate, Dr. Todd M. Hamilton. Dr. Hamilton is a Maine native and the son of a Caribou optometrist, Dr. Willard Hamilton. Dr. Hamilton is currently accepting new patients. He has expanded our Low Vision Services and is a wonderful asset to the practice. Dr. Cedrone started his optometry career in Portland, Maine in 1978 specializing in contact lenses. He has participated extensively in clinical research and has served as a consultant to many contact lens and pharmaceutical manufacturers. At present time, the office of MAINE OPTOMETRY, P.A., has a dispensary with one of the largest selections of eyeglass frames and lenses in the state, a full-time, functional optical laboratory, state-of-the-art examination procedures and instrumentation, a well-trained and experienced staff, and a very caring atmosphere. Dr. Littlefield, Dr. Broderick, Dr. Hamilton and Dr. Cedrone continue to explore new ways of creating patient satisfaction with input from both staff and patients. In December of 2002, MAINE OPTOMETRY, P.A. opened a second office at 5 Depot Street in Freeport. 82 Maine Street in Brunswick.
